Istanbul New Airport (İstanbul Havalimanı), which replaced Atatürk Airport, is located 41 km north-east of the city centre, in Eastern Thrace, and is the largest airport in Turkey.
To and from the airport
You can travel to or from the istanbul airport by bus or taxi in addition to the car. There is no direct metro or train connection to the centre of Istanbul.
Access by Car
The airport is easily accessible from the city centre via the D020 motorway.

The airport is connected to Istanbul, its surroundings and the cities of Tekirdağ – Çorlu by regular bus services.

Access by taxi
Istanbul airport taxi stands are available at the terminal exits and in the departure area. The journey to the centre of Istanbul takes approximately 45 minutes, depending on traffic.
By 2028, however, Istanbul Airport will have six runways and four terminals and will serve 200 million passengers a year, covering an area of 76 square kilometres – three times that of Ataturk.
